Galliano, what really happened and do we even care?

This morning the Huffington Post ( who got their info from Le Figaro) released more info on what is going on with this bar fight mishap... read on..

John Galliano has filed a defamation claim against a couple who claimed he assaulted them and hurled anti-Semitic remarks on Thursday night, Women's Wear Daily reports.
Galliano's lawyer Stephane Zerbib told the fashion newspaper that the designer provided police three witness statements saying the comments were never uttered -- including the account of Galliano's own chauffeur.
Zerbib added, Galliano "is not guilty and is not embroiled in a court case or anything. He feels [the suspension from Dior] is a decision that has been made without verification of the facts and based on one side of the story and he is very shocked about that."
Le Figaro gained access to the police reports filed on that night -- the couple who first accused Galliano of making the remarks is named as Geraldine Bloch, 35, and Philippe Virgiti, 41. The incident started around 9 p.m. at La Perle in Paris' Third Arrondissement. Galliano allegedly yelled (based on our translation) "Dirty jewish face, you should be dead!" and "Fucking Asian bastard, i will kill you!" to Virgiti, who is of Asian descent. There was also some hair pulling. There is no reason given as to why it all began.
But then it continued. Le Figaro writes (and, again, we translate):
"Shut your mouth, dirty bitch. I cannot tolerate your voice," Galliano yelled. The woman in question [Bloch], who works at The Institut du Monde Arabe, didn't leave. "You are so ugly I cannot even look at you," continued the designer. He added, "You have low-end boots, disgusting thighs. You don't have hair, your eyebrows are ugly, you're disgusting, you're nothing but a bitch." And he finished his diatribe with, "I am the designer John Galliano." He told the woman's companion [Virgiti], "I will kill you." According to the young, female victim, he [Galliano] pushed the provocation up to the point of almost calling his lawyer and offering to give the couple his telephone. The woman refused. After being alerted, the police arrived in several minutes. After being taken to the station and tested, the aggressor [Galliano] tested positive for the "Alcotest" at 1.01g. He passed by Hotel Dieu [Hospital]'s medical service, and was quickly examined but without a blood test. Shortly after his arrest, he was given his freedom. And the designer's chauffeur, who waiting patiently at Hotel Dieu, was given permission to take him home.
The female victim spoke with Europe1 on Friday, although she requested to remain anonymous. She recounted:
"I was sitting with a friend and the table next to us was open. A bizarre guy sat down, ordered a mojito and started to tell me I was a bitch. At the beginning it was just 'dirty bitch,'" and after the anti-Semitic and racist insults. "We couldn't get rid of him, he was a friend of the owner," and the people around her had to tell her, "That's a star, that's John Galliano. "I'm not Jewish but in this case, I feel a solidarity with an Arab person and a Jewish person."
There are a handful of witnesses who say they never heard the anti-Semitic remarks at all. And The Cut writes:
We spoke with a source today who has worked closely with Galliano on several projects and "can't imagine he would do this to anyone." He added, "I'm an observant Jew, and I know from my own experiences with him that there's no way he hates Jewish people. He's incredibly gentle."

Could it be true? Galiano suspended from DIOR?!?!

So last night in Paris there was a some kind of bar fight that led to Galliano supposedly yelling out antisemitic  slurs at a rude and unfashionable couple. Supposedly the couple was calling Galliano a bum and told him he looked homeless! ha ha ha. This world is very funny.

Here is a report from The Canadian Press.

Dior suspends designer John Galliano after he was accused of anti-Semitic insults.
By Angela Charlton (CP) – 7 minutes ago

PARIS — Famed fashion house Christian Dior SA says it is suspending creative director John Galliano after he was detained and accused of an anti-Semitic insult.
Dior says in a statement Friday that it is suspending Galliano pending an investigation into the incident in a Paris restaurant Thursday night.
The Paris prosecutor's office says a couple in the restaurant accused Galliano of making anti-Semitic insults. A police official said that Galliano also exchanged slaps with the couple.
Galliano has been Dior's creative director for 14 years.

Also, isn't Natalie Portman the new face of DIOR... Isn't she Jewish, ?? Just saying... wtf

Prada: 60's Scottish spaceship travelers armed with fur and fish scales Fall 2011

Prada chose to live stream their runway show. The show itself was one hour and a half late. Guests were made to sit on square Styrofoam boxes as they waited for the plastic to be removed from the catwalk. The setting was a very large two level room with pillars and a big stair case. It sort of seemed seem like the models where coming out of everywhere at a pretty fast speed. There was an air of uncomfortable confusion to the entire show which seems to have been done purposefully.  Plaid 60's like dresses, fish scale like palette dresses and fur mixed coats where over powering. This collection draws your attention, sucks you in out of curiosity and then leaves you confused but slightly obsessed at understanding the mix of themes that went on.
This stood alone, nothing can touch it, nothing resembles it. It was class, it was a review, it was elegant and fun.

Casino as an inspiration for Spring

The film Casino by Martin Scorsese has fabulous style the whole way threw. The wardrobe is epic.
Being based on a Jewish American gambling mobster relocating to Vegas in the 1970's, this film hits everything that is glamorous about the era.

These glasses hold their own. So over powering and heavy, they get your attention right away. Hopefully this will trend for men this coming spring!!!

Sharon Stone's outfits really bring to mind some of the pieces in Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 Collection. Here are a few examples of what we are talking about.

Berardi goes light and girly for Spring!

We are used to seeing super short and super tight with Antonio Berardi. For his Spring 2011 Ready to Wear collection Berardi really changes things up. There is an air of sophistication, elegance and luxury to this one yet totally keeping with the clean modern edge. He introduced parachute like pants, with tuxedo tops and then went  to shiny silver trench's that were to die for, then off to ballet/military  combo which oozed prettiness.

This collection was sort of all over the map, in a good way!

Loving both of these trench coats, one for day and one to glam up the night.

This jacket is to die for! Excellent cut and form.

Finally, Phillip Lim's Calder shoe wold be a perfect match to Brardi's black and white suit.

Christopher Kane Spring RTW '11 a burst of freshness.

Spring is around the corner and we are definitely feeling it in the air. The weather the last few days has been so warm and spring like, it's been encouraging to us. Looking at Christopher Kane's Spring Ready to wear collection for 2011 we can really feel the freshness especially with his choice of colours. Using perforated leather with a vinyl coating  gives  a more shine, more of a clean allure and mixing that with lace and patterns that look peacock like, he takes the tea time look to a futuristic time. This collection goes perfect with springs new love for orange cosmetics.
